At the Southside Cultural Center of Rhode Island, family—however it is defined—is honored as a source of strength and belonging. Here, the spirit of community and active participation are seen as forces that uplift and transform. Rooted in the Southside, West End, and Elmwood neighborhoods, SCCRI serves as a cultural anchor, nurturing artists of color and cultivating leaders who uplift their communities. The warmth, energy, and sense of unity within this space resonate across Rhode Island, offering a powerful example of inclusive art-making, connection, and shared cultural expression.

We are home to the following partner tenant arts organizations - Jordan Wellness and Adventures Center, Rhode Island Black Storytellers and Rhode Island Latino Arts, who manages the Galería del Pueblo at SCCRI. Collectively these organizations provide classes in dance, music, storytelling, visual art exhibitions, and live performance events. In addition, several of these organizations also provide social advocacy, cultivate cultural preservation, and support individual artists.
