10:30 - 12 p.m. - Storytelling Workshop and "Spoken Word Alive! ¡Ay Ay Ay!" with Leeny Del Seamonds - Join Cuban-American Master Story Performer™ Leeny Del Seamonds in this highly participatory workshop for teachers, adults, and performers at all levels. The workshop opens with Leeny sharing a Latino story, followed by a series of exercises and improvisations to bring works alive with vocal variety, healthy phonation, movement, gestures, and characterizations. Leeny emphaziese pronunciation of some Spanish words and vowels en espanol and shares how to "roll the rr's." Finally, we'll expand out cultural circle by acting out on of Leeny's Latino tales, "Tres Cabras Llamados Garcia," complete with maracas and dancing. Be prepared to move, challenge yourself, and have FUN. ¡Olé!

3:00 - 5 pm - Movement Workshop with Yon Tande and HipHop Storytelling Workshops
5:00-7:00 pm - Pop UP! - Open Mic and celebration of Spoken Word and the Art of Storytelling. A talented bunch of 'Tellers, Poets, freestyle rappers and singers demonstrate how the art of the story is still very much alive and evolving. A live band compliments the evening, providing the canvas for the Spoken Word Artists to "paint" with their tongues. Hosted by award winning poet Marlon "Inphynit" Carey, this event is not to be missed!
