The Sankofa World Market is held every Wednesday from July - October from 2 - 6pm at Knight Memorial Library and the African Alliance pop-up markets will happen at various neighborhood locations on Friday evenings. Both markets will be held doors and will benefit from dynamic, interactive, and culturally relevant artists.

We invite Arts Curators interested in showcasing our community’s many cultures and connecting the arts to our overall health to apply. This call is open to individual curators or teams of no more than two people. The selected Arts Curator / team must be available to work between May and October, 2019.

Beginning last summer, we brought artists of various media to the Sankofa World Market. This year, in addition to Sankofa, we look forward to expanding the connection of artists to multiple pop-up markets run by the African Alliance of Rhode Island. This work is made possible through Sowing Place, a collaboration with the City of Providence and with funding from the Kresge Foundation's FreshLo Initiative.

Curatorial Stipend: $3000.

The curator will be provided with a modest budget for each event.
